How the wheel picks a winner

Everything runs in your browser. There is no account, no tracking and no ads, and the result comes from a cryptographic random number generator.

    What is a spin wheel?

A spin wheel is a circle divided into segments, one per option. You spin it, and the segment under the pointer is the winner. People use it when a choice should be fast, public and hard to argue with: who goes first, what to eat, which student answers next.

The wheel is only a picture of a random draw. This site chooses the winner first, then animates the spin to land on it, so the animation never changes the odds.

    How it works

    1. Enter your options in the text box, one per line, or pick a ready-made wheel from the templates.
    2. Optionally switch to list mode to set a weight for each entry, or turn on Remove winner.
    3. Press Spin and watch the wheel slow down on a winner.
    4. Copy the result, spin again, or use Share link to send the wheel to someone else.

    Is it random?

Yes. The winner is chosen with crypto.getRandomValues, the random number generator built into your browser, instead of the weaker Math.random. Weighted choices use inverse-CDF selection on a 32-bit random value.

You can test it yourself. The fairness check runs 10,000 simulated draws on your current wheel and shows expected and observed percentages with a chi-square result. Read the details on the how it works page.

    Privacy

Nothing you type leaves your device. Entries, saved wheels, settings and results are stored in your browser's local storage, there are no cookies and no analytics, and the site does not need a server to run. Share links hold the wheel in the URL itself, so it is only shared when you send the link.

    Frequently asked questions

Is the spin wheel really random?

Yes. The winner is chosen by the browser's cryptographic random number generator before the animation starts. You can run the built-in fairness check to compare expected and observed results.

    Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up. Saved wheels live in your browser, and sharing works through a link that contains the wheel.

How many entries can I add?

Hundreds work comfortably. Long labels are shortened on the wheel, but the full text appears in the winner dialog.

Can I make some options more likely?

Yes. Switch to list mode and set a weight for each entry. A weight of 2 is twice as likely as a weight of 1.

    Will it work without internet?

After your first visit the site works offline, because it runs in your browser and stores what it needs locally.

Can the same entry win twice?

Yes by default. Turn on Remove winner or elimination mode if each entry should win only once.

How do I delete my saved data?

Use Clear data in settings, or clear this site's storage in your browser settings.
