How the wheel picks a winner

    About the Movie Night Wheel

Choosing a movie can take longer than watching one. This wheel starts with the genre, which narrows the search enough to stop the scrolling. Spin once and you have a direction: tonight is comedy, or sci-fi, or a documentary. Then it is much easier to pick a title that fits.

You can also put actual movies on the wheel. Paste your watchlist, or ask each person to add one title, and let the wheel settle the vote. Elimination mode is helpful here: remove one film per spin until a single title remains, which feels fairer than a straight pick because everyone watches their favorites survive or fall.

    How to use it

    1. Press Spin to pick a genre.
    2. Search your streaming app for a film in that genre.
    3. Or replace the genres with titles from your watchlist, one per line.
    4. Turn on elimination mode to remove one movie per spin until one is left.

    Frequently asked questions

Does the wheel choose a specific movie?

By default it picks a genre. Replace the entries with movie titles to choose a film directly.

    Can everyone add a title?

Yes. Each person can type a title into the list, or you can share the wheel link so others can copy and extend it.

Is elimination mode better than a single spin?

It takes longer but feels more fair for groups, because several people see their pick survive before the final choice.

    Is the movie wheel fair?

Yes. The winner is picked with the browser's cryptographic random number generator before the animation starts. The fairness check in the menu can run 10,000 simulated draws so you can compare expected and observed results.
