About the US State Picker Wheel
This wheel holds all 50 U.S. states and picks one at random, each with the same chance. It is a quick way to start a geography lesson, assign state reports, or pick a destination for a road trip you have not planned yet. Teachers can project it and let students watch the spin.
To study every state, turn on Remove winner and spin until the wheel is empty. You can also shrink the list to a region, such as the Southwest or New England, by deleting the others. Capitals, nicknames, flags and famous landmarks give the winner a quick follow-up question that turns the spin into a short game.
How to use it

Frequently asked questions
Does it include Washington, D.C.?
No. D.C. is not a state, so the wheel has the 50 states only. You can add it as a custom entry.
How do I assign each student a different state?
Turn on Remove winner and spin once per student. Each state is drawn only once.
Can I pick a region only?
Yes. Delete the states outside the region and the wheel adjusts automatically.
Is the state picker fair?
Yes. The winner is picked with the browser's cryptographic random number generator before the animation starts. The fairness check in the menu can run 10,000 simulated draws so you can compare expected and observed results.
