About the Random Color Wheel
The random color wheel lands on one of sixteen named colors, and every segment is painted in its own color so the result is easy to see. Art teachers use it to set a color constraint for a drawing. Designers use it to break out of a palette habit, and kids use it for color-recognition games.
A random color forces a choice you would not have made yourself, which is useful for creative exercises. Spin twice to get a pair, or three times to build a small palette. Edit the list to add shades like coral or navy, or remove colors your project cannot use. Custom colors can be given any hex value in the list editor.

Frequently asked questions
Can I add my own colors?
Yes. Add an entry and give it a color in the list editor; the segment will use it.
How do I make a palette of three colors?
Turn on Remove winner and spin three times. Each color drops out after it is picked, so you get three different ones.
Are the colors accurate?
Each name uses a fixed hex value, so the segment shows the same shade every time. Screens differ slightly in calibration.
Is anything I enter stored or uploaded?
No. Entries, settings and results stay in your browser, there is no account, and the page keeps working offline after your first visit.
